The Trick

Grab someone from the street. Shuffle the cards before their very eyes. Explain that you are going to riffle through the deck and ask them to tell you when to stop. Allow them to take a card and look at it, while you turn your back. Tell them to show it to the camera and to remember it well. Tell them to return the card to the deck and then hand them the deck. Do all this with your back turned so there is no way you could know their card, without magic!
Now turn around and attempt to…. Hang on, there's something wrong with the magician. It appears as if he's choking. He's falling on his knees... He's pulling something out of his mouth. It's a nine of hearts! The same card chose!

How it's done

The secret to this trick is that there's no regurgitation at all. David Zanthor uses duplicate cards and the power of performance to convince his audience that a regurgitation has taken place. As the cards are duplicate, Zanthor knows which card is going to be selected from the beginning, and so will you, if you want to do this trick.
Place the first 9 of hearts folded in quarters up your sleeve. David is concealing it in his sweatband. You can hide yours anywhere you like, but just make sure it's secret. -
Place the second nine of hearts at the bottom of the deck. When you appear to shuffle hold the cards in your right hand and pull packets of cards from the top of the deck into your left hand with your thumb. You're actually positioning the nine at the top of the deck. Now force them the nine with a riffle force. Riffle the cards until they say stop. With your right hand, pull all the cards save the top one out of the deck in one swift motion. This puts the nine just where you want it and forces her to take it.

Now when you turn your back she thinks it's for her privacy, but actually, its for yours. Take the opportunity to slip the hidden nine into your mouth ready for the regurgitation illusion. Once she's put the card in the deck, and you've handed it to her, turn around, and perform the illusion. This trick stands or falls on the power of your performance. So really go for it. Now in a dramatic fashion take the card from your mouth, and unfold it to reveal the card they choose. They will be astonished, and possibly disgusted.
