Hey guys, I am a BMX flatlander. The name is Mario Carelse and I ride for Team Extreme. And I am going to be showing you some BMX tips and hints.

We are going to look at an overview on how to do tricks on BMX bicycle. It's a very broad pitch really because there are so many different strings in BMX. You have BMX flatland which is tricks on the ground, you have BMX dirt riding which is the big cool pipes and half pipes that you see on the tele, you have skate park riding, you have BMX racing and you have BMX street riding as well.

You are just making use of everything around your actual environment. Curves, walls, anything, benches that you can grind and you can bunny hop over. Stalls, any sort of tricks really.

So, depends on what meets in a game, I mean some people would want to touch everything on a ride, all aspects of BMX and BMX over rider. But usually, what happens nowadays because it is so specialized and the brakes are so different, my flatland bike is completely different to a street set up bike. So, it would be quite hard to ramp work on this bike just it's really hard to do flatland free style on a street bike or a ramp bike.

But it can be done, so the basic moves when everything fails the stanzas is kind of all the same. BMX is BMX at the end of the day. And every section will end in you doing tricks and progressing.

That, you will find that when you are starting at the stanzas and everything else that you will need to learn will be slightly different from flatland's ramp riding. Ramp riding, you need Bugsy, you need full safety gear and you need to work transitions. You will drop in great heights, you are going to be riding walls, you are going to be doing it which is again based on just jumps, bunny hops and we are taking it to the big ramps.

Flat is totally tricks on the flat ground, more balancing, more rolling among will, things like that. So, obviously your setup stance for flatland is quite a few of them. Because there are so many tricks, use your imagination to what combination you want to put your tricks in and how you want to them.

So for example, in flatland BMX, once you got the correct bike setup, a lot of your tricks, you will be using your stump. Now, these are very important parts of the bicycle especially in flatland. You will find that in some ramp riders, street riders, they don't actually use the full set.

They might have two on the side to grind on and they will have none on that side or they will have two on the front or maybe just two on the back. Again, it's personal preference. Everything you need to put to do tricks on the BMX is basically you need to be in some sort of good physical shape.

I am not saying that you have to be anything. You just need to go out and make sure that you are physically fit and healthy to do these tricks. And obviously, crashing is a big part of BMX.

Once you learn the tricks, you will also learn to crash. Don't worry, it's not loads pain all the way. You do learn these techniques on how to fall, how to roll out of tricks when it goes wrong, how to bail out the bike when you are in mid air.

Eventually, the better you get, you will learn to do these things naturally. So, it becomes more enjoyable and less dangerous. So obviously, you are learning new tricks, so there is always an element of something going wrong because it's new ground.

But eventually, practice makes perfect. .
