How To Do Tulip Arrangements
Master florist Amanda Lions explains how to make a tulip arrangement using several bunches of tulips and small cubic vase.
Hi, my name is Alexandra Lyons and I'm a master florist. I create floral displays for celebrity homes, events, weddings, and special occasions. I'm going to share some tips with you on flower arranging.
I'm going to show you how to make a tulip arrangement. You'll need a suitable container. I'm going to use a short one.
You don't always need to keep your flower stems long to make an arrangement or to make the flowers look nice, and this is a prime example of that. You just add some water to your vase; it doesn't have to be too deep for tulips. I'm just going to cut them and place them in, just cut those a little shorter, cut them on a slant, make sure the stems going into the water are clean.
You see, I'm just going to cut through the whole bunch and then place them in. Slightly larger ones in the center and smaller ones around the outside will make a nice dome. Takes a lot of tulips, this vase.
You can do it in little cubes. So, what I'll do this time is make all the tulips the same height, cut them in one go and hopefully they're the right length. And again, just gather them up, cut across, don't worry about cutting across the leaves because they won't be going in the water, the damaged ones, and the lower leaves always tend to be damaged on tulips, you can just pull them out.
And again, place in. You can also snap them. I'm just going to move the larger ones to the center here.
And do you know, I think I need another bunch. It's better to have a smaller vase and fill it than to have a large vase with flowers rattling around, so I'm going to fill this one. If you just have one bunch of tulips, a little tiny cube or a little votive that you put candles in, would work equally well.
Okay, just pulling those off, they'll create bacteria in the water so we keep them out as much as possible. I just need to move a few of these around. And don't forget they'll grow a little more.
That's why I've made it quite short. And that is how you make a tulip arrangement. .
