How To Do Vintage Hair
In this episode of Hair With Hollie professional hair stylist Hollie Kiernan shows you how to do a vintage style hairdo with flicked out ends and a side parting.
- Hair Spray
- Tail Comb
- Backcombing Brush
- Hot Rollers
- Hair Band
Step 1: Section The Hair
Part the hair into a side parting, then split the hair across the top of the head from ear to ear and clip the front section aside.
Step 2: Backcomb The Hair
Section the back section of hair about an inch back from the parting and clip the top section aside. Take sections of the lower layer and backcomb them to create the bump. Keep Going until you have used up all your hair.
Step 3: Cover With The Middle Section
Once you've finished your backcombing, let down the middle section of hair, give it a quick backcomb and lay it over the back section.
Step 4: Curl The Ends
Curl the back of the hair about two inches up using hot rollers, leave them to cool, and brush out so you can see the flick coming through. Give it a spray of hair spray to keep everything in place.
Step 5: Attach Hair Band
Place a hairband over the parting to finish off the look.
