How To Draw A Cartoon Boy

Hi, my name's Mik, Mik Brown at miko-cartoon.com. I'm a cartoonist and I'm going to show you how to draw some cartoons, let's have fun.

Now I'm going to show you how to draw a cartoon boy. As usual, we sort of start of with little round shapes. I'm drawing the ear there - roughly there - but I don't know, I might change it.

and the hairline there.

I think it sort of looks good. Got a lot of hair on this guy and the eyes positioned about there. and the nose here. It will rub out if you're not happy with it.

and it's getting a little bit better.

There we go. Just finish off the ears and then I'm going to draw his little neck there. Not too big a body, little bit of a triangular body there and start to bring the legs down from the waist.

Just a few shape designs to indicate his jeans are a little bit rolled up, as it were, you know? So it's not - a straight line is a little bit like his legs have been ironed, or something. But, so yeah, I mean that could be a guy in a suit I guess but it's kind of nice to have the character of trousers rolled up a little bit with one hand in his pocket and the hand saying "hi." Yeah,I'm gonna work on that with my thicker pencil.

The light is obviously just on this side, it's darker over here but that's caught the light - so the shading would be in this direction. So, how about that? That's how to draw a cartoon boy.
