How To Draw A Cartoon Man

Step 1: Rough outline

First, start with his head. Pop a little stick on for his neck and then mark out his body. Make sure the shoulders are even and the neck is in the middle. Then mark on two stick legs and arms with hands. Make sure both arms are the same length. Then you can fatten up your guy by going in and around his stick figure. Check your pencil outline before you carry on.

Step 2: Details

Give him a pair of ears and lots of hair. Draw him a jaw line and give detail to his ears. Next come his eyes, nose, eyebrows and a big smile. Now give him some clothes to wear. A knitted jumper perhaps with a round neck and long sleeves. Give your little man fingers and thumbs. Now onto his legs. Mark out a pair of trousers and a pair of smart shoes.
