How To Draw A Sheep Step By Step
Using guidelines like circles, ovals, and triangles, professional illustrator Lynne shows us how easy it is to draw a basic sheep. The visual drawing techniques shown in this video are simple to follow - you'll have your sheep done in no time.
So, first, I'm going to tell you how to draw a sheep. So, we need to create a triangle to start with, like so, and then within that, we need to draw an oval slightly more stubby than that, so let's bring it in a little bit. Then, we need to give our triangle a little hat so we need to do a little circle over the top like this.
Now, we need to add another oval, and this time, our oval is going to be at this angle. I'm just about going to fit this on this piece of paper, I think. And then, we need another oval over here, like so.
Now, we need to add a bit more detail. So, we need two lines coming up here which are going to help us at a later stage. Two lines coming out here.
First of all, we draw across these here. Next, we're doing all these circles up at the top. I'm going to add another oval at this stage and I'm going to add a circle that covers these two ovals about here.
And then, we're going to add the bottom part of the back leg so we need to come out at an angle like this to start with, and then the opposite, then we need to come in and down. So, first, we're going to add a little bit more detail to the face. First of all, we need to create the mouth, so we come across here at the bottom and we create another line here, like so.
Then, we come up, like this, and then in the middle, we do the nose. And then, you join up the bottom and that becomes the front part of the mouth. Then I'm going to put a little triangle here and a little triangle here and then on the other side of that, I'm going to draw in the eyes, very simply for the moment, we can add more detail shortly.
Now, we can actually start getting rid of some of our guidelines. So, next, I need to finish off these feet. Now, I know where everything's going.
So, the bottom, we come across, like so, and this way. If you look around the same level, the ones behind need to be on the same level but they need to be slightly back, keeping the lines sort of jagged and shaggy, because we're trying to create the effect of wool. Okay, and that's really how to draw a sheep. .
