How To Draw Bart Simpson Step By Step
If you've ever wanted to learn to draw Bart Simpson, follow along with Mark Wood's video and he'll have you drawing this cartoon character in no time.
I'm a professional freelance cartoonist and today I'm going to be showing you how to draw cartoons and caricatures.
Now I'm going to show you how to draw Bart Simpson. Again, you start with the eyes, which is exactly the same as it was for Homer and Marge.
You do, circle, and the half circle again. The nose is exactly the same again so you should be getting the hang of it now. You come out for the nose.
Now the lip on Bart is slightly different than the two that have already been done, so from where you've come out with the nose, you need to make a straight line down from nearly, but not quite, the end of the nose. And as you get towards the bottom, you just come slightly out for the lip. And then you do a line coming back up because you're going to do him with a smiley face.
Just thicken that line up slightly there.
For his chin, what we need to do is just like the bottom lip and then you come out just a slight piece of the chin and then there. Like that.
You move up to the other side of the face. And the ear is actually quite low down, so it's only just above where the mouth is. So you put the ear on, so you do like a C shape, and within that you do another C shape, for the other part of the ear.
And just a little line coming down off of the bottom of the ear for the back side of the neck.
The hair's actually quite easy, so you just need to do a straight line coming up from the ear, and when you get up probably halfway for the rest of his face, you can just do some, literally, up and down lines. Like that.
You should come out level with roughly the mid-part of the part of the eye. And then you come straight down, and again, just bump out just before you get to the eye. And I'll put in a couple of little dots for the eyes.
Like that.
Now, moving on to his body, if you join the base of the neck up, which is going to be the top of the t-shirt, and we're going to do like if you do a round. So you're going to draw a circle but instead of going all the way around, you just level it off at the bottom.
That's going to form the top of his sleeve. You do two straight lines down, which is going to be his arm, and for his hand, if you just do a circle at the bottom it will probably be the easiest for now. Just leave it like that until we finish putting in the rest of his body.
For his stomach, you come down, just a line at a slight angle, and then you come right out here, because he's got a little bit of a belly. And join that on to the circle you've drawn that will be in a couple minutes, his hand. Do a little line here, which just represents the side of his arm that you can only see a small amount of and join the back of his neck to his t-shirt.
Now on the back of the arm of the t-shirt here, you want to just come out and join that line so it's level with the one you have just done for the front of the t-shirt.
For the shorts, it's probably easiest if you do just the rectangle shape joined onto the body. Like that.
And in the middle, you just put a little line coming up, and just a cross line like that. You can round these off in a minute. From there, to draw his legs, you just do two straight lines down here, on one side of the shorts, and two straight lines down on the other side of the shorts, and round them off on the bottom.
You do another little sort of circle shape here, which is the top of his socks. And he doesn't really have much socks showing apart from the top so therefore we go straight on to the feet. So you just come out and you do like a slightly curved line and then more or less, straight across along the bottom and join it up on the back.
And you do the same for the other foot. You obviously can't see all of it because obviously you've got the first foot you've drawn so you just join the lines onto that. Underneath that you just do a couple of straight lines, which are going to be the soles.
And he has two little ci
