How To Draw Charlie Brown: Jamie Sale demonstrates how to simply draw the beloved classic cartoon character by Charles Shultz, Charlie Brown.
Hello, my name is Jamie Sale. I'm a freelance cartoonist from Essex and I'm going to be teaching you how to draw cartoons. We're going to draw Charlie Brown.
When we draw Charlie Brown, we start with the shape of his head which is circular. It doesn't matter if you get a perfect circle. We then add the ears.
The ear on the left is slightly bigger than the ear on the right because of the angle that he's standing at. His nose is pointing at this angle as well. That's pretty much right in the center of his face.
He's got his eyes on either side of it. He's then got, funny shaped sort of hair. It's a bit crinkled and goes around his sort of forehead like that.
He has eyebrows just there as well. He's got a big, broad smile that goes from one side of his face to the other. You can adjust your circle accordingly as well because that circle would have been too long for his face.
I'm just shortening it a little bit. I'm just going over it in pencil a little bit. To draw his body, we start with the little shape of his neck which is pretty much right in the center of his face.
Then we draw sort of a triangular shape which is bulging out slightly this way more that this way because that's his stomach and this is his back. I'll draw the shirt detailing. His t-shirt of his arm, the line of the shirt, is halfway down his body.
His hands are quite simple, they're just slight little loops. Draw like that. As you can see, some of his arm is just hiding by his body there.
This becomes a straight line and just extend that down a little bit, and this represents his shorts. There's a pattern on his t-shirt as well, on his shirt like that. And we draw his legs in.
Draw sort of a square shape here and put the line in the middle of it and then a line here to represent his socks, and then his shoes. Again, you just want to go over it a quick bit to define the lines a bit more. Then we shade in the black bits.
On this occasion, his shorts and then this pattern on the top here. And that's how you draw Charlie Brown. .
