I’m going to show you how to draw peter from family guy. So im going to start with his eyes, as its the easiest place to start. I’ll start with a circle here and then another circle. Then overlapping the eye you’ve just drawn, I’ll draw another half circle for his nose. Then you do some small lines on the inside of the circles for his eyelids. Now we can move onto his mouth, you want a big goofy smile. His bottom lip protrudes and sticks out a little bit, so you want to do a line coming out from the bottom there and he’s got a big bulbous chin which sticks out like that. And that’s the inner part of his face, it’s a big fat face and you come around and down like that. Now if you come level with the middle of his chin, you want to come up with a curvy line, sort of round to about there, this line we’ll continue and go straight over and onto his glasses to give us the basic shape of his face. Now his ears are very high on the top of his head so you want to come up to do his ear just above this line here and do a little circle but not joining up the end. Now the hair’s nice and simple, you just come out from the ear, and you’ve got the fringe which just comes down, it’s near to the glasses but not on them because you need to leave room for his eyebrows. So just bring it round and kick it off slightly from the side of his face. Then bring it round and join it up to his ear to make his hair. And in the tiny little gap between his eyes you can make his eyebrows. Just shade the hair in. The only thing left to do with the face now is do the line to his glasses, just join it onto the hair in a straight line. Now we’re going to draw the body so we’re going to do a curvy line which comes out and then comes back in, this is going to represent his stomach which is rather large. Now moving up we’re going to do a line from the middle here, this line is the same shape and follows the contours of the previous outer line. When you get to the top, you’re going to draw his collar. So do a little round line and then back up the outside like that, and just join this line up with his face. Now doing the other side and do a slightly wavy line for the back of his shirt and do a few buttons on the middle of his shirt. Then we do a line for the arm of his shirt, his sleeves are always rolled up so we’ll just draw the rolls. For his arm you just want a curvy line coming down, and another on the other side. We‘re not going to draw his whole body today so we’ll just do it down to where the lower half of his body would start.
We’ll now draw Lois from family guy, start again with two circles, the nose comes slightly out and over one of the eyes and there’s a tiny little line at the bottom. Then just fill in her eyelids and her eyelashes. Then we fill in the dots for her eyes. For the mouth, if we initially just do the smile like that then we can fill in the lips over the top which is easier. So now you’ve got the basic inside of her face and we can move onto the outside. So we come out with the cheek in a curvy line, to just below the mouth, so for the other side, come up level to the bottom of her nose and then do a circle for her earring, and then a curve on the top of her head for her hair, followed with another curve for the other side of her hair. Then make the hair skim her cheek and tuck it in down underneath her face.
