How To Draw Manga In Your Own Unique Style

Hi, I'm Kyle, I'm an illustrator and I'm going to take you through some tips on drawing Manga and Chibi. Right, I'm gonna show you how to draw manga in your own unique style. And to help you do that, I'm going to show you one of the popular styles in Japanese manga, which is the "prissy boy" sort of character.

It's very popular in japanese manga, popular mostly in ghost manga and anime. You are starting off with a circle here, just up and down that line. Now these characters are slightly feminine looking, very beautiful looking male characters.

So, you are just going to start off by making a line down here. These are a little bit sharper than you would draw for the jaw line of a general manga character. They are usually a little bit more rounded off, but these are just the guidelines here.

Just taper the sides of the circle there to flatten it a little bit. And just taper where the neck comes off here. Unlike most male characters, you want to be drawing, the neck is not very slender, but it's going to have a little bit more of a curve to it.

So the eyes are actually a lot more feminine looking than your generic male characters. So you should actually come to quite a point from the top, and a little bit larger. Should still be slender, but a little larger.

I very much like a lot of the female characters. They always tend to be pretty to reflect and a lot of shiny things happening with these characters. Moving on to the nose of the character, just take down the side of the little line.

Just mark it a long slender nose on your character. Just marking out the shadow, but if you like, you can actually even on these characters, take over even seriously a little bit more of the nose to try and show the angles and try and show off some of the handsome features of the character. The mouth will be a lot more feminine, a lot like how you draw feminine characters.

And they tend to have quite long hair, so I will make this no exception. Just think about where the hairline's going to be, as well as the parting and the crown line of the hair. Just think about how gravity takes the hair down.
