I'm going to show you how to draw Pikachu from the Pokemon. So basically, you want to draw a shape to start with. Like this is going to be his head.

It's not really a circle, it's slightly wider at the bottom than the top and on there, you're going to do ears. So you come up, say, my right hand side and you would do one ear there and you'll come down to the center point and the other ear of Pikachu is off to an angle like a lop eared rabbit. So in there, you do some diagonal marks like that and you can just shape those in for the top of his ears.

It doesn't really matter if that ear is slightly more lopsided. It doesn't really make a difference; it's on the top of his head. Now, I want to put in his eyes.

So they're quite wide apart. We're going to put one circle here halfway maybe just slightly towards top to more or less halfway and one there. They're going to be his eyes.

A little dot in between is going to be his nose. So for his mouth, he's got a big smile so we're going to do a little streak like that and from there, we're going to come down like that. If you put a shape like that in the back, that is his tongue and then we should just shade his eyes area.

If you want to shade them in, leave a little bit part white, it's at the top corner, just makes the eyes look a little bit more like they do in the cartoon with a little bit of white shine. Now, the shape of the face is pretty much as you want it but we're going to come down here, we have to come out to slightly at the bottom for his cheeks. There you've got the basic shape of the face.

For the body, it's not too bad. What you will do is come down and I'm going to do a shape sort of like this. So you've got rounded on one side and a bit more angle on the other.

So we're going to draw his arms. So we're going to do a circle here, an oval shape, and we're going to do another one there, like so. His fingers are very, very sort of small and sort of a bit pointy so quite stuffy, so we'll do this thumb here first, we're just going to go like that and the fingers are sort of angular.

Let me just come out paws where we have four of those and we're back in. There's his arm up there and the other arm is going to come across here like this, so at the end of our oval, we should just do a point there which is going to be his thumb and one, two, three, four and we just take it up for the arm. Now, we come to the feet.

So we're going to put the feet coming out here, like so, and one coming out there, like so. And the feet, we're just going to do a few little toes, so you just put little marks in there, like that, and you've got the feet up. Now, all that's left to do is the tail.

So, the tail will come virtually down just a little bit about here sort of halfway between the arm and the foot and you're going to come out. This is done with all straight lines so you're going to come out different angles but they're all straight so that's nice and easy to do and you come up and down as the tail gets actually thicker and wider as it goes up. So as you come out here, it must be quite narrow and you want it to get a bit thicker so the distance here is a lot thinner than this one and this should come up here, this one is very thick so you're going to come down and you join that up, like so, and just a little bit of detail on the tail.

He has a little bit of shading just there so shade that in like that. And that is how to draw Pikachu from the Pokemon. You need to follow a good cartoonist to teach you how to draw any cartoon characters.
