Step 1: Boots

Wear good quality, strong boots to deal with rough terrain. Accompany with good quality woollen socks that do not chafe.

Step 2: Trousers

Trousers should be comfortable, and waterproof if necessary. At the very least they should be quick drying.

Step 3: Jacket

Your jacket should waterproof, and preferably made of natural fabrics. This will be safer around fires

Step 4: Layers

Wear at least a base layer, mid layer, and outer layer. A couple of cotton shirts, and a canvas one on top should be enough.

Step 5: Other items

Wear a scarf around your neck, and always take a hat, as you lose about 90% of your body heat through the head.

Tips & Comments

Ventile cotton is different than most cotton fabirc, and can be used in most temperate climates.

  2. Anonymous

Fairly good, except that cotton should be avoided for any situation except extreme heat.

Does anyone know what sort of coat (manufacturer etc.) that he is wearing? Ventile jackets are tough to find...
