Pin up girls are all about the kind of femininity and sexiness of the 1950's. Think the 50's in terms of accentuating the woman's best assets. Bosoms, nipped waist and hips accentuated, that's what the 50's and pin up girl was all about, really.

What you need to kind of do to get this look is, there were certain things in that era which will kind of key to this particular look, certain fabrics such as gemum which was almost seen as kind of work wear in a way but to make it sexy, women obviously started to come into the workplace by tying their shirt into a small kind of, you know, to make a short body and kind of accentuate their bosoms and obviously kind of gave them a bit of a waist, and obviously accentuated all the way to the bottom. Polka dots were not the big fabric choice for that particular era but a huge kind of pin up girl look. So the polka dot scarf is a huge kind of thing for that pin up look.

You can use it to kind of tie into a neckerchief or into a head scarf, into a cute bow at the front of it, all these certain ways accentuating the kind of like feminine charm as after you've finished doing a hard day's work, etc. but you're ready for anything sort of look. To be able to achieve the pin up girl look, you need a particular type of bra shape which is going to be the balconette style bra.

This is a bikini top and the thing is again, it has a balconette shape which kind of sits and lifts the bosom and almost as if they're on a ledge, and that's basically the style that you need for kind of the foundation of your pin up girl look. In terms of swimwear, anything as I said, with polka dots, that particular balconette that lifts here, that's kind of got the feminine semi-modest charm to it, kind of, it's a bit kinky, and end up wearing those with high heels or flat pumps. And to finalize the look, a bit of red lipstick always goes down the treat with pin up girls, barrow curl the hair and lashing with mascara, and that's the way to get the pin up girl look. .
