How To Drop Into A Halfpipe On A Skateboard
In this video Nate Principato will show you how to drop into a half pipe of your skateboard. Halfpipes can be tricky so watch closely! In four quick steps Nate explains and demonstrates one of the most popular tricks in skateboarding. Nate also explains common mistakes to avoid making so that you can optimize you halfpipe experience.
Step 1: Back Foot On Tail
Once you're on top of the half pipe, place your back foot on the middle of the tail.
Step 2: Lock Into Coping
With your back foot still on the tail, go up to the coping and place the back wheels up against the coping, in the half pipe.
Step 3: Front Foot On Screws
Place your front foot over the screws on the top of your board.
Step 4: Slam Down
Slam down hard on the front screws. Keep your head forward and don't lean back otherwise the board will fly out from under you, and you'll whack your head on the wood or coping.
Make sure that you have a lot of pressure on the front foot. If you don't, you'll fly back and scrape your leg. Also, focus on your balance and know you can do it.

to stop really quick and stylish u must learn slides :P
this is useful but i dont have a helmut
Hey. Wait. When I'm learning how to do this, I want to be able to stop without falling. Right now I can't stop veary easily by leaning back on the tail, I just slow down, and put my foot down. But I'm gunna be gaining more speed going down. How can I stop quikly, without going back up the other side of the half pipe?
Shame, the only half pipe in my village is where all the chavs hang out, and it's pretty much a public toilet. Hitting my head on the coping! Ouch! I don't even have a helmet!
This is a GREAT instructional video! Nate Principato does a Fan...tas...tic job!! Helmet would be good for kids just starting.
Not as easy as this looks, and in fact, expect to bump your head on the copen a few times - meaning - when trying this trick, where your helmet.
