How To Drum Solo

Hi, I'm Rick from The Music Workshop Company, and I'm going to show you tips on how to drum. I'm now going to give you some ideas on how to construct drum solo. Now, often the thought is "Oh no, I've got to do a drum solo.

" and you try and cram as much into one as possible, therefore it's not going to make much sense. Give yourself time. Okay, give yourself something to work with.

So what I would suggest doing is give your self four to the floor, that's with the base drum. So, you go. And now, you can play above that and give yourself some very simple things to work with.

So, I will do, and I'm going to try to construct a solo out of just that little riff 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Okay, so get the base drum going, okay, so you can add things along to it. Okay, so this is your drum solo so you can do whatever you want with it.

Give yourselves ideas to work with though. So, you can make it, you can go, anything you want. Okay, if you want to complicate the foot pattern, you can, you can add the high house, you can instead of doing this, you can go, instead of doing that, you can go speed up. .
