Hi, I'm John from Growing Life, London, UK urban and indoor growing specialists. We're here to talk about how to dry fruit at home. The reason we dry fruit at home is to stop the bacteria and microorganism spoilage to the fruit.
This is basically to stop your fruit from going off. When we dry it, we can use it at a later date and it will keep most of its flavor and goodness. When you're drying your fruit, you'd like to cut it evenly as to give it the best dry results.
We use a food dehydrator for the best results and this uses heat and air to help speed up the process. Here are some evenly cut bananas and when they're dry, you'll see the difference in them and the texture changes and they turn quite leathery.
