How To Dry Rosemary
These are ways on how to dry the herb rosemary.
Hi, my name's John from Growing Life, London, UK urban and indoor gardening specialist, and we're going to talk briefly about how to dry the herb rosemary. We're going to look at three methods to dry rosemary. The first and most simple is to tie together usually about 6 to 8 rosemary sprigs and to hang them upside down in a vented dry cupboard or airing cupboard.
The second method to dry rosemary would be, which is often considered the best, is using a food dehydrator which is conveniently set with a herb temperature setting of 35 degrees where the fresh rosemary harvested is simply placed onto the drying trays and the placed in the machine until it is dry. The final option for drying rosemary for a larger amount is something similar to this which is a home drying station. We can use heat filling it.
We tend to use just a little bit within this unit so you do find that the drying time will be slightly longer in the drying station compared to the dehydrator. But obviously hanging it would take longer, still, so depending on your preferred method of drying, from the dehydrator which might take approximately 6 to 10 hours to hanging it within a vented space which could take 2 to 3 weeks. My name's John from Growing Life, London and that was a brief introduction on how to dry the herb rosemary. .
