In This video I’m going to be showing you how to install plasterboard or drywall as it’s known in the U.S. Plasterboard comes in a number of sizes, be careful to buy the size that’s easiest to complete your project and easiest for you to lift on your own. For this project we’ve build a project to suit an eight by four piece of plasterboard. So it’s going to need minimal cutting and allow me to install it as quickly as possible. The first thing you need to do is manoeuvre your plasterboard into position, I’ve put mine just at the flush edge of the wall, and now we’re going to screw it using dry wall plaster screws. When screwing be careful to just sink the screw in, don’t go too far or it won’t fix it properly and too loose will cause you to catch the top of the screw with the plaster trowel. On a four foot high wall we’re going to use four screws and that should be enough to secure that, so we’re going to mark out our four screws. Continuing along the wall, now it’s a bit harder to see where our timbres are so we can use a level. Just match it up with the above timber and score a line down and that will tell me where my timber is when it comes to securing it.
