You can choose from many websites or software programs to help in filing your taxes. Many major tax and financial institutions have an online presence to help you file and programs, such as Turbo Tax can be helpful, for a fee.
For those with an adjusted gross income of $52,000 or less, the government has a free e-file program at www.IRS.gov.
/>Depending on the program you choose, follow the steps on your software program or web site, entering the required information.
Most of these programs have easy, numbered steps that guide you through and in which you can freely move back and forth to check your work.
When you're done, select the option to deliver your return electronically. You do have the option of printing your work and mailing it to the IRS but filing electronically has proven to be a safe and much faster way to get a speedy tax return. If you do choose to file electronically, you will be asked for your previous year's adjusted gross income as a security measure.
Enter your bank account numbers when prompted and then e-file. This allows the IRS to wire your return straight to your account. Piece of cake!
