Step 1: Establish a Schedule

Your body rests best when it gets into a regular sleep-wake cycle.
Try to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day – even on weekends.
Eventually your body will get better at “knowing” when it's time to sleep and when it's time to get up.

Do the same things in the same order every night.

And while 30 minutes of exercise each day will help you sleep at night, make sure it's at least three hours before bed.

Keep your bedroom cool – but not cold – and as dark as possible.
Fans, humidifiers and white-noise machines also help drown out little noises that could distract or wake you.

    I believe in the opposite to all that as no one can clear the mind at will,so try this for one week..... take a small radio to bed and when you want to sleep place the ear phone in your ear and tune in to talk talk station . Within fifteen minuets you will be asleep , but I warn you it is addictive but always works, thats a promise . The power of the talk overpowers the mind thoughts , and just remember where you found this.

    lol maybe it's cuz i don't have a routine xD i can be on bed for hours and still won't fall asleep and all kind of stuff come into my mind >.> my eyes are killing me for that during the day and i get headaches. Sometimes i can be half awake and half asleep at the same time-.-"
