How To Evolve Rhydon
Pokemon expert Charles Scott, administrator at the Pika Club, shows you how to evolve Rhydon into Rhyperior and where to find a Protector.
Method
Rhydon is the Drill Pokemon, a ground and rock type and is no. 112 in the National Pokedex. It was introduced in Red and Blue, the original versions of the game, but didn't gain an extra evolution until the Diamond and Pearl versions. Up until the 4th generation games, Rhydon was the maximum evolution of its evolution line.
Rhydon will evolve into Rhyperior when traded while holding the Protector. In Diamond, Pearl and Platinum, you will find a Protector on Route 228. In Platinum you will also find one on Iron Island. In Heart Gold and Soul Silver, there is one lying around on Mount Mortar. In Black and White, you can find two Protectors: one of Route 11 and one on Route 13.
