How To Evolve Seadra
Have you got a Seadra but don't know how to evolve it into Kingdra? In this step by step guide Charles Scott, administrator at the Pika Club website, talks you through how to do it, and how to get the item required.
Seadra is number 117 in the National Pokedex, a Dragon Pokémon of water type. Seadra evolves from Horsea at level 32; it was introduced in Red and Blue, but didn't gain an evolution until Gold, Silver and Crystal.
To evolve Seadra into Kingdra, attach a Dragon Scale item to it and trade it with another player. Once the trade is complete it will instantly evolve into Kingdra.
The following Pokémon have a chance of holding the Dragon Scale when you catch them: Horsea, Seadra, Bagon, Dratini and Dragonair; although the Bagon can only hold one in generation III games. Instead of catching these Pokémon until you find one with the Dragon Scale, use a Pokémon with the Frisk ability; this will allow the Pokémon to tell you whether an enemy is holding and item, and what it is.
You can also find a Dragon scale in the world map. In FireRed and LeafGreen you will find one in Water Path and the Trainer Tower. In HeartGold and SoulSilver there is one around Mount Mortar; you can also purchase one from the Pokeathlon Dome shop on a Wednesday and a Friday, using the points you earn at the Pokeathlon. On Black and White you can find one on route 13 and route 18.
