How To Fake A Fight

Impress your friends with these moves so you can learn how to punch and kick safely.
-
Step 1:
-
The Punch
-
Obviously when throwing a fake punch you're not meant to hit the target.
So keep an arms length apart and establish eye contact.
Exaggerate the back swing for dramatic effect and always practice at quarter speed. Aim for the middle of the 'victim's' face, but pull back before you hit him, and try to keep at least 30 centimetres between face and fist.
To hide the gap between the 2 of you, the guy taking the hit should be positioned at an angle or with his back to the audience.
-
Step 2:
-
The Sound
-
Use your free hand and hit it against your chest, as it'll make the right thudding sound and the spectators won't be looking there.
Again it's all about the angles, so the fall-guy can block that hand with his back to the audience.
-
Step 3:
-
The Fall
-
For a safe fall, lower yourself before falling by leaning back, bending one knee and keeping the other leg straight. Land on your backside and let yourself roll onto your back so it looks like momentum has taken you down.
-
Step 4:
-
The Kick
-
The success of this depends on your positions again, so the victim can block the audience view with his body. For a decent fake kick, kick down into the ground to make a noise without making contact. Stop short of his body while he flinches backwards as if he's taken the full force of the kick. A few agonising grimaces and rolls on the floor will complete the effect.
