How To Fake A Tarot Card Reading
Reading Tarot cards is an age old art, surrounded in mysticism. But you don't have to know the rules of Tarot or be a believer to have fun conjuring up magic and entertaining an audience. Let us show you how to fake a reading and display your amazing psychic ability!
-
Step 1:
-
The Card Formation
-
Get yourself a suitably austere looking pack of Tarot cards and lay them out in a specific pattern as it wont be very convincing if they are just randomly placed. Try a cross formation using 3 cards, followed by a row of 3 more cards below it. The central card represents the subjects present position; the 2 cards to the left and right represent immediate influences; the card nearest the client represents their hopes; and the card nearest the reader represents their fears. The three cards lined up below read left to right - past influences, future influences, and finally an outcome.
-
Step 2:
-
Get with the lingo
-
There are hundreds of variations on the deck of Tarot cards in circulation around the world so don't worry about learning all the true meanings. Instead be inventive and attribute meanings to different figures based upon the images you see. For example, (use card II) this could mean the client has dreams of travel but feels trapped, or this one could mean (VI) that people see you as generous, or that you see yourself as a giving person. Just don't go too overboard or specific, saying that this card means you like to go out on the lash might arouse suspicions as to your credibility!
-
Step 3:
-
Order of cards
-
There doesn't need to be any formula or particular order in which you should turn the cards. Try starting off with the Present Position card and getting your subject to talk to you about the feelings this card may arouse. Maybe they feel trapped or lacking in freedom over something, logically you could then turn the Fears card over, suggesting that it may reveal more as to why they feel so trapped. Continue to let the information that your subject tells you influence which cards you turn next. Just always remember to encourage them to talk as much as possible and listen carefully to what they say for clues as to their situation that may help you to target instances relative to their lives.
-
Step 4:
-
Be theatrical
-
Your subject is there to be read but also to be entertained so don't disappoint.
Use long, pauses with your eyes closed to formulate your next reading. This will give you time to process their previous answers. Use gestures and other visible signs to convey emotions to add further to the authenticity.
Hold their hands if you think it will increase your chances of convincing them of your authenticity.
-
Step 5:
-
Be confident
-
Self -assurance and confidence are the keys to pulling off a successful fake reading so make all pronouncements in a strong voice and deal with all skepticism or criticism with a laugh and a smile, so long as you leave the subject thinking you know more than others you'll be in control!
