How To Fillet A Mackerel
In this tutorial, Paul from Fin and Flounder shows you how to debone and fillet a fresh mackerel in four easy steps.

Ingredients
- 1 mackerel, whole
Method
Get a good grip on the fish, lift up the fin (just below the head) and, using a sharp knife, cut down and along until you hit the bone. Once you hit the bone, turn knife round slowly and push away and the fillet will come off. Repeat on the other side of the fish.
Trim away any guts and the fillets are ready to cook.
