How To Find An Acupressure Point
This clip discusses the ancient technique of acupressure for relieving pain and energising the body by identifying and working on the pressure points.
Welcome to How to Find an Acupressure Point. So, we got to need a volunteer. So today, we have Hugo.
So, we got to look at some points on the legs and the feet. So we would like to swing round and pop you over your leg on my foot. As there are over 360 points on the list itself and over rather 150 extra points, there are huge numbers of points we can work with.
Today, we are going to show you some common points. Fine, one of the main points we are looking for is stomach 36. Stomach 36 is a point that is all swinging and all dancing points we see in many acupuncture treatments and many treatments for acupressure and so to find it, what we are looking for is a point just about here, a point that is about here, a handbreadth below the kneecap and just off the main bone here.
So, you are looking for a depression in this area, maybe you can feel here if you do it yourself, will be hollow and empty spot. And your finger should not clearly fall into it. Now, it should be just the hand's breadth below the kneecap and should be a fingerbreadth away from the bone in the body of the calf muscle.
Now, what we are going to do is we are going to stimulate this point. So, we can use a very basic technique, circling technique and this is going to be a little bit codified. And stomach 36 codify is just a function and it allows body to relax, it helps body to generate blood, it helps body to build energy and it can be used as a day-to-day maintenance regime for yourself or for other people you care for.
Now, a very common companion point to this is called splint 6. Now, we find splint 6 in a similar way we use handbreadth. The patient's hand is right on the cheek of my hand roughly the same though.
I am just using this between little finger and index finger because across them, his hand is so small. So, we find that inside of the leg just on the most prominent point of the ankle bone and we are going to find just off the bone, we should come into a very nice depression on the inside of the leg. Now, this point can be little sensitive for a lot of people, that is fine.
We just want to work again on the gofar technique and this point is extremely good for nourishing the body. So, whereas stomach 36 is nice for nourishing the chi of the body, this point is good for nourishing the blood of the body. And the last point I am going to show you, is a very common point, is the comparison point for blood and test 4.
Blood and test 4 is between the palm and the index finger and is just in the web margin and we find a nice soft point and usually the most tender spot there. So you might look little to stimulate yourself. The companion point for the level 3 for the large and test 4 is very useful for relieving stress and tension and very good for alleviating the stresses of day-to-day life.
We find that between the first and second toe, we find full of the bones and just up the web margin maybe two of three fingers find a nice dip between the bones and that is usually a very strong good point to work with and we can work with a nice gentle roll for here. And we can also do at the same time that we can combine it with the point on the hand and we can work with both at the same time and that is how to find some of the common acupressure points. .
