Hi! I'm Liz Fuller. I'm the new boss at Miss Great Britain and a previous winner from 1997 and, for the last 13 years, I've been working as a TV presenter and producer at ITV and Channel 5. Today, though, I am going to be giving you advice on the beauty pageant world.

So, how to find beauty pageants in the U.K. Firstly, word of mouth is always the best way to find the best run pageants.

You need to speak to girls in your town that, perhaps, already hold a title because they're going to give you their own personal experience on how they won but also, you know, what they thought of the organizers and which one was run the best. So, word of mouth is always the best way to go. Another way you can go is, of course, you can do Google searches.

Now, I don't believe in, I think beauty pageants, when you Google search, I don't think the best run pageants come up first. Obviously, it's a business and sometimes the beauty pageants that earn the most money will be the ones that are drawing on the text votes and ways of raising money before looking after the girls' needs, if you know what I'm saying. So, just be a little bit careful when you are doing a Google search.

You want to really be entering one of those five pageants that are most recognized in the U.K. So, Miss Great Britain, which is the oldest pageant, since 1945.

Then you've got Miss England, Miss Scotland, Miss Northern Ireland and Miss Wales, which goes into Miss World. You've then got Miss Earth. You've then got Miss Galaxy.

And then you've also got Miss Universe G.B. which has sprung up in the last year.

So those are the five pageants you really want to be finding more out about. The other way of doing it is keep your eye on newspapers! If you're going to be a beauty queen, you need to have a good, general knowledge of what's happening anyway in newspapers, what's on TV. But what you'll find is the pageants that are the best run will be in the newspapers more than anything else and that's because some of the girls that have won like Danille Lloyd or previous year's Jen McGarrett; we've got Leilani Dowding, myself; a lot of the girls that will be involved in a good and a well organized pageant will tend to use that platform as a springboard to do something else in their career.

Therefore, well-run pageants, girls that have done well will tend to be written about in newspapers more. So, if you see the name, then you Google that pageant as opposed to the other pageants that you may find if you just do internet searches. Just be careful.

Read the rules and regulations. Find out how they're run. If you have to, see if they're a limited company.

See who's behind it and always see if that organizer will put their face on record or if they'll put their face to the business because I think reputation's very important. .
