How to find calligraphy courses: This is a little bit trickier than it sounds because you think the first port of call is to hop onto the computer and surf the internet. Well, there are quiet a lot of courses, but unfortunately, they are distributed all over the country and sometimes not necessarily where you are. Your best option for finding courses is to get in touch with the Society of Scribes and Illuminators by looking at their website or going to the Calligraphy and Ledgering Arts Society website and they will then put you in touch with your local calligraphy society closest to you.

You might actually be in a little triangle and have access to two or three or four little societies, which would really be helpful. Also get in touch with the local societies and you might find that there are people closer to you that actually practice calligraphy by running a little workshop now and then, every month, or they have a specific group that meets. The next option would be to get in touch with some of the suppliers like Cornelius or shepherds or fork and fine paper or even images and there are other suppliers that do me a lot of work, scribblers, calligraphers, blots and John Neil sellers in the States, pen and paper and ink arts, so there are quiet a few suppliers that you could get in touch with, and then from the suppliers, you can purchase books on how to do calligraphy.

Do be careful with this because it is very easy to use a calligraphy book and train yourself. It's an awful bad habit and once you learn bad habits, you have to get rid of them. The next thing you can do is probably get in touch with a local calligrapher and have private lessons.

Unfortunately, these can be very expensive but it does depend on what your final goal is. And that's essentially how to find calligraphy classes. .
