How To Find Network Key
The network key is an important code to connect to the internet using a wire or wirelessly. Videojug provides an easy and well proven way to trace your network key on the router or on your computer.
I am going to show you how to find your network key. There are two ways of doing this. There is actually finding a key that you don't know what it is yet or there is the way of finding it on the computer if you connected before but you just need to find out what that key was.
The simplest way to find out what your was key is, on your router is to find out your router, turn it upside down, or look on the back and you will often see your WEP or WPA code and that will be the code you need to connect to wirelessly. If you connected with your computer before, but you still don't know what the code is, I am going to show you a way to find that out on the computer. Okay, so the first thing we need to do is download a little program that shows you or reveals the keys that are stored on your computer.
In order to do that, you have to go to a website which is nirsoft.net and download their little program called Wireless key view'. This will help you cover lots of wireless network keys.
So you download that program and install it and it will install a program called Wireless Key View'. So once the program is installed, you need to go to the wireless key view program here, double click it, and what that will do is search through your computer and look at every single wireless connection that you have connected to in the past. It will list that down on the left here.
It will tell you what type of key it is, it might be WEP, it might be WPA, and in this column here, the key ASCII column, it will show the actual codes that were used to connect to LAN. So you can just write those down, to help you or you can actually export those to a file so we can save those to a text file. I am going here, it's called KEYS' and save that.
So I have just shown you how to find out what the wireless keys of your wireless network. Firstly, have a look on the router to see if that's where it is. If that doesn't work, download and run the Wireless Key View program.
If you still have no joy, then the simplest thing to do would be to ring the manufacturer of the router and they can walk you through how to find out the information that way. And that's how to find the Network Key.
