How To Find Out Who Stole The Cookie From The Cookie Jar Using CSI

Use forensic science to see who's been eating your stuff at the office, at home, or anywhere we people are trying to sneak in a few extra calories.

Step 1: You will need

  • Evidence
  • Suspects
  • Air-tight Container
  • Cooling Chamber
  • Apples
  • Magnifying Glass

Step 2: Preserve the Evidence

Place your cookie evidence in a tight container. Put it in the cooling chamber, to save the evidence from tampering, degrading, and molding. Seal it shut.

Step 3: Apple Sample

We bite by latching the front incisors and canines of the upper jaw, then swiveling the lower jaw upward to tear at food or other objects. Biting an apple requires us to really latch on. That determined bite leaves an impression which matches the upper teeth.

Start a casual conversation with your suspects about nutrition at the work place. Let them know how much you care about the health of everyone at the office. To show it, you've brought organic apples for everyone. Offer each suspect an apple and encourage them to take a bite.

Step 4: Collect the Sample

Suddenly, remember aloud that you saw worms in the apple section of the supermarket. Your coworkers will stop eating the apples. Apologize, and offer to take the apples back. These marked apples are your control samples.

Step 5: Prepare the Evidence

Take your evidence out of the cooling chamber and bring it to your examination table. Separate each of the apple bit samples and label them clearly.

Step 6: Compare Bite Marks

Look at the front of the bite mark and compare the width between the incisors and canines. Compare them to the same measurements you see in the cookie. If your grandma's cookies are thick, the perpetrator may have left a few clear identations you can use to compare with the apples.

Step 7: Case Closed
