Hi, my name is Matt Dilworth. I'm a Saturday Intermediate League goalkeeper and I also run and manage my own Sunday League side, and today, I'm going to take you through some football basics to help get you started. How to find a Sunday league football team.

Many Sunday league sides are always on the lookout for players. There are many ways that you can find these out. I'm sure most people will know somebody that is involved in a football club locally.

Ask friends and family if they're looking for players. One of the more common ones and which I have gained a couple of players from is by looking on the FA dot com. They have a special club finding website which you can look on, type in your post code and it brings up a list of local clubs to you and the club contact details.

It's then up to you to phone those clubs, ask if they're looking for players, running trials or training sessions, and then head along. Also use things like Facebook. There are always groups and wall postings and things like that which are always open to discussion for local football sides.

But it's obviously about you to take the initiative, look for these clubs and go and try out and meet new people and go take in the training sessions. So, don't be shy, go ahead, make the calls, and try and find yourself a side. .
