How To Find Your IP Address In Windows

If you want to find out what the IP or Internet Protocol address is for your computer, this little film will show you how.

Step 1: Using Windows XP/2000/NT

Click on the start button on the Windows task bar. Click Run. In the text box type the letters cmd. This launches a command prompt window. Type the command ipconfig/all and press enter. You will now see a long list of data. In amongst this is your IP address, a set of 4 numerical numbers, for that network adaptor.

Step 2: Using Windows Vista

Click on the start button on the Windows task bar. Type Command Prompt in the search field. Click on Command Prompt once it appears. In the command prompt window type ipconfig and press enter. Amongst the data, you will find your IP address.
