How To Fix Xbox 360 Ring Of Death
In this tutorial, Rene Millman explains what the red ring of death on an Xbox 360 is, and suggests ways on how you should try to fix this particular hardware failure problem.
Hi, I'm Rene Millman, editor of Absolute Gadget and today, I will be talking about the Xbox 360. In this video, we'll be showing you how to fix the red ring of death on the Xbox 360. Now, the red ring of death means there is a genuine hardware failure.
Basically, the red light will come up on the console and you won't actually see anything on the screen. The first port of call, as always, is if your Xbox 360 is under warranty, send it back to Microsoft to have it fixed. I cannot stress that hardly enough.
They've got proper qualified technicians there who will fix the problem. If it's out of warranty, then you can get a qualified technician to have a look at it, and they can fix it as well. It's not really a problem that's easily fixed by the average console gamer.
But what it generally signifies, as I said earlier, is a genuine hardware failure. So the most likely problems are that the hard disk is having problems reading and writing to it, so you've got disk failure there. Also, with the DVD drive, there could be a problem there with it not reading and writing properly.
Or there is a, if it's almost a certainty that it's overheated and it's screwed up a component somewhere, then you might get away with unplugging it and leaving it for twenty minutes for it to cool down. And while you're doing that, make sure all the connections are properly fixed up. If you make that, it's all okay and you've left it for twenty minutes or half an hour to cool down, then you can restart it again.
If it works again, then you might be okay, but if not, then you're looking at an Xbox that's heading towards a hardware failure and it needs to be fixed. It will need to be fixed either by a Microsoft technician or a qualified technician. .
