We're going to look at how to do BMX flatland. Basically, this is playing within BMX, it is what it is. It's on a flatland.

You can find anywhere flat, it can be car parks, it can be tennis courts, it can be pavement as long as you're not in the way of the general public, you're safe while you're doing it, you've got the correct safety gear and your bike is in good condition. You don't necessarily have to have a flatland bike to do flatland tricks. You can have any kind of BMX as long as you have pegs and brakes, you can learn the basics.

With this bike this is actually a flatland bike specific so I wouldn't use this for ramps or anything, thing is purely just for riding flatland in places like this. To do BMX flatland you don't need to be super fit or a sportsman or anything like that because as you learn your tricks your body strength will build but it is important that if you're doing certain tricks, you're using your upper chest a lot to actually train if you want to. Obviously if you finish riding or before you ride make sure you stretch so that you're not going to pull any muscles or damage yourself.

Try and workout a little bit if you can. Keep yourself in good, healthy condition and it all adds up to making flat land riding a lot easier. If you are physically in good shape and your bike is dialed in and in good working order and then you will need to learn the stunts which we will touch on now.

It is very important ion BMX flatland to know your bike. Make sure that everything is in good working order, you know how things work with you and you know where everything is and obviously your brakes are in good condition because when you're starting out you want everything to be working so that stunts do become easier to do. But before you do the stunts you're going to have to learn certain stances on the bicycle.

This is where your stunt pegs are going to come in really handy. These are your stunt pegs, you have 2 in the front and 2 in the back, that is quite general in flatland, you might find some people riding 3 pegs and some ride 2 but mainly in flatland it's going to be 4 pegs so you need to learn to stand on these pegs. A lot of positions that you're going to roll around in are going to be on the 2 side pegs.

Now to achieve that start off riding with the foot over the back of the bike on to the back peg and the other foot on the front. Now this is a very important stance in most tricks. the next one will be both feet on the back pegs, just transfer your weight from the pedals to the pegs, it is quite easy to get in and out of because you are just stepping forwards and stepping backwards.

So practice that quite a bit and you'll be fine. Flatland is a very good sport to do; it's all about your imagination. There are so many tricks that you can actually do.

I would be impossible for me to name them all now, but it is all about putting them all together in such a way that they are unique to yourself. I mean, people can do tricks the same but everyone likes to be individual and do their own thing. It's a combination of tricks.

You can put as many tricks or whatever tricks together however you can put them together. find out new ways of linking tricks together and that is the beauty of flat land it keeps you mind working and it is really interesting because it is different every single day.
