Hi I'm Amy and I'm a visual merchandiser in John Lewis in Oxford Street and today I'm going to show you how to fold cotton clothes. Now this is a hundred percent cotton polo top and I'm going to show you how to fold it. Now what we need to do is turn it onto its reverse and lay it flat, making sure that there are no creases in it.

Cotton is a heavy fabric and can be quite tricky to fold as it can be a bit stubborn. It is very easy to iron but can crease quite easy as well so we do just need to take your time and not rush. Now, what we are going to do is bring each side's end and make sure they lay nice and flat.

If you try to bring them in just to the edge of the collar, they be maybe an inch or so, just give it a nice finish. Now if you are giving t-shirts or any shirt as a present, if you lay a piece of tissue paper down the middle it gives it a nice stiff finish and won't allow it to become unfolded. Now you bring the end up into the middle just under to where the arms are and then once more up unto the collar.

Just make sure everything is nice and neat and everything is tucked in at the sites and that's how you fold a cotton t-shirt.
