Hi. I'm Amy, I'm a Visual Merchandiser here in John Lewis in Oxford Street and today I'm going to show you how to fold a pair of trousers. Now, first we need to make sure that the trousers are laid out nice and flat, making sure that if they are a pair of trousers with a folded seam, we need to fold them along that seam; otherwise, when they're hung it will fall out and you'll find yourself having to iron them back in.

Now, what we're going to do is, first, just show you how to fold them for storage in a wardrobe, laying flat. So, what we're going to do is we're just going to bring the bottom straight up to the top, like that. Keep them nice and flat.

Now, if you're laying trousers down to store, it is ideal that you keep them flat; otherwise, you will end up with pocket creases all through them and that's not what we want. Now, if you're going to hang them, you need to bring your hanger and line up the edges. Now, this is a dry clean only fabric, it's 100% cotton, so I'm not going to clip them because you need to have some tissue paper; otherwise, they will mark and the mark will stay.

Now, this is ideal if you're hanging in a short wardrobe. Now, if you're hanging in a long wardrobe, you just need to bring them straight back down and, again, adjust the hanger accordingly, and clip on the top, and then you can hang them. And that is how you fold a pair of trousers.
