How To Forearm Pass A Volleyball
To dominate the game in beach volleyball, you'll need to master the forearm pass. This pass gets the offense started and allows your volleyball team to move the ball to the "setter" in the target area. So learn how to forearm pass a volleyball the VideoJug way.
Step 1: You Will Need
- 1 Volleyball
- 4 Volleyball Players
- 1 Volleyball Court
Step 2: Get Ready
Your feet should be shoulder-width apart and your knees should be bent. Keep your knees in line with your toes. Now you're poised to move quickly to the ball.
Step 3: Move to the Ball
A volleyball player needs to be eagle-eyed and agile. When the ball comes over the net, you must move to the ball so that it lands squarely in front of you.
Step 4: Make Forearms into a Platform
Make your arms into a platform by holding them straight out in front of you. Clasp your hands in front of you with your thumbs bent inward. Hold your arms flat and together, palms up. Lock your pinky fingers together so your arms don't come apart. Keep your elbows locked and your knees bent.
Step 5: Make Contact with Ball
When the ball is right above your forearms, push up with your legs. That's where most of the force will come from. Keep your eyes on the ball. Make ball contact on your forearms between your elbows and your wrists.
Step 6: Follow Through
While hitting the ball, keep your forearm as flat and under control as you can, even after the ball has left you.
Step 7: Recover and be Ready
After the forearm pass it's important to recover your balance quickly… so you'll be ready for the next volley in this fast-moving game.
