Karen Ridgers gives us very clear instructions on how to freeze blueberries which are a very good source of vitamins. Frozen blueberries remain nutritious as well as tasty. Freezing makes it last for a very long time.
I am going to show you how to freeze blueberries, and it is actually very easy to do. And how I start, first of all, is to get some really good quality blueberries, usually organic and just sort through them. These are obviously in a much smaller bowl but just sort through them, see that you have not got any basic stem or you know, moldy blueberries, anything like that.
Give them a good wash and then put them on a table or table top or a plate and just let them dry naturally because the best way to freeze them is to have no actual water on the blueberry itself. So once you have done that, you can get a baking sheet or you can get a plate, which I've got a small plate here, and pop the blueberries directly into the freezer, maybe for around an hour. This enables the blueberries to freeze slightly and it just makes them easier to pop into a bag and freeze the bag and also, you avoid them sticking together.
So, these ones, we pop in. Besides, these are already frozen, pop them into a bag and get the air out of the bag as well and these can last for many, many months in the freezer. Blueberries are a gorgeous way to get at least one of your five a day.
We frequently eat them frozen because they taste like mini ice lollies; we also make smoothies with them, pop them on top of our porridge. They are just a really a tasty fruit that is bursting with goodness, with vitamins and things that are going to make you really healthy. So, we have got these and actually, we just pop them back in the freezer.
So, that is how you can freeze blueberries. .
