Enlarge Take some healthy cooking tips by watching this video and learn how to make the freshness of your food last. Here's how to freeze peaches so that you enjoy them with their original flavor and taste. And not just peaches, you can do it for other fruits as well so that they really last a long time.

Today, I'm going to show you how to freeze peaches, just in case you have a ton of them knocking around or you've bought some from a farmers' market, and you want to store them and enjoy them for a longer period of them. We usually go for organic peaches and wash them thoroughly first and then just leave them for a few minutes to dry. Now, another good tip when you're freezing your peaches is to have a measuring jug to hand and put in a freezer bag.

This just makes things really sturdy when you're popping in your peaches and you're popping in the juice. So, first of all, get a really nice sharp knife, and there is a bit of a knack to getting the stone out of your peach. So, get yourself a really nice sharp knife and you may need a bit of practice on some peaches.

So, what we usually do is slice the peach all the way round the middle until it meets, really make sure, go round again and cut through right through the stone. And now, as if by magic, we're going to turn the peach, and not bad at all, it's come out. Cut through the best you can this way and then try to just get as close to the stone as you possibly can and gently nudge out.

It's really good to use your fingers if you really like feeling your food as well. Now, freezing peaches, you can cut them up into slices, equal sizes if possible. You can chop them up, and especially, yes, if you don't get your stone out correctly, chop them up the best you can.

You can also freeze them in halves as well, but I think for time-wise, we just like to slice them up as so. Now, pick the best peaches that you possibly can, because adding them to the freezer does not enhance the quality, or the flavor, or the goodness of your peach. So if you start with a really good tasty peach, first of all, the one that is quite soft but not too mushy, then you're on the right track.

So simply, what we do is we get out our freezer bag and pop the peaches in. You can just start with one or two, however many that you'd like to freeze. You can freeze peaches in water, in grape juice or in apple juice, and if you've got time, like I like to do from time to time is juice your own apples and that really makes it just so good for you.

We've just got some organic apple juice here and do a bit of research with ascorbic acid and see if it's something you do want to use. It stops the peaches from going brown, and you just need literally an 8th of a teaspoon in one pint of apple juice. So, really, actually give it a bit of a sprinkle, sprinkle a little bit more over the peaches, mix it up, and then pour in, and you can see it's really handy to have the bag inside another jug, because it just makes it more steady for you.

Fill up the bag, and maybe with an inch or so more above where your actual fruit is. And, of course, you can do the same thing for nectarines, for different berries, it's the same thing, but here we're just using peaches. Now, try to squeeze the water out, and it's a little bit tricky, and you can tie around in a knot.

Just tie around gently, and make sure that you close the bag to avoid any leaks. So once you've sealed the bag, you've got as much air out as you possibly can, they're fine to pop in the freezer. Now once you pop them in the freezer, you can leave them maybe overnight, and then they'll be frozen in the morning, and once they're in your freezer, really, they're going to last a really long time, many, many months.

And of course, when you want to enjoy your gorgeous peaches again, all you need to do is pop them out of the freezer, and I would leave them in the fridge to defrost naturally overnight, so they're tasty for you in the morning. So there we go, an easy way to enjoy healthy, gorgeous, tasty peaches. .
