How To Get A Great Look With Metallic Eyeshadow

You can never go wrong with metallic eyeshadows in this party season. Make your eyes shine even more using the tips and tricks in this eye makeup tutorial.

Hello, my name is Karla Barchieri. I'm a freelance makeup artist, and today, I'm going to show you a few makeup tips. Now, I'm going to show you how to apply metallic eye shadows.

Metallic eye shadows are great for going out or for any party season and I'm going to show you, with few colours, how much you can gain from them. I'm going to start with a frosty, very strong, metallic white from My Face Cosmetics and I'm going to apply this. I have to point out that I already prepped her eyes, so it's very important that when you are using eye shadows, prep your model's eyes just because the eye shadow will last longer, will live a little bit longer.

Close your eyes for me, and I'm just going to go right on the inside of the eye as the beginning, just to give that bright light when she opens her eyes and when she looks, and again, on the other eye. As you can see, I'm just pressing and the reason is there's so much glitter on this stuff and light-reflecting particles that if you sweep this product like so, it's going to come here and for that reason, I recommend to do your eyes first because depending on the amount of product that you decide to apply, you may find that you can have a lot of product to clean up afterwards. So, just go right inside your eye in the beginning of the eye and now, you have one colour already.

This one, again, is another colour that we can use as a highlighter since we're working with metallics, and this is a very versatile colour to use because you can put it here on your brow bone and you will see after that it's going to just pop and really look nice with the other shadow. Okay now, after that, I'm going to put a very strong purple from My Face Cosmetics, again, and I can use the same brush I was using before, a flat brush, and as my model closes her eyes, I'm just going to pretty much meet the lash line with this product and I'm going to concentrate on her eyelid. I will try not to step on the white I have already applied and again, try just to dab this product on the eye as much as you can and after you have done the lash line, then you can turn your brush straight and you pretty much follow the almond shape of the eye and just above the eye crease, just place the remains of the brush on it.

As you can see, this is a very very bright shimmery eye shadow. It's like Christmas on an eye shadow; it's a foil look, really really intense metallics here. Again, so you put on the other eye and just upside down to meet the lash line, upside down again, so you're going to do this as many times as you feel until you want the product to come forward, if it makes sense, though.

Just for you to apply until you're happy with the coverage of the product. Right now, I just want it to create a very intense look and also one that you can see the white and you can see the purple. Okay, and don't go too far away from the eye, just keep yourself inside the eye and there you are.

Have a look at your model. And this is with just two colours, we are creating a very very nice shade of eye shadows. Lovely! As you can see, it's a very easy and straightforward way to apply it.

Just dab the product and then once you're happy with it, just go very gently on the edge and just sweep until you meet the two colours that you have and blend them. Just be very gentle around the eye area, okay. She's already looking amazing, and mind you, she hasn't got eyeliner or liner on the inside of her eyes and there, she's looking great.

This colour goes really really well with her brown eyes. So, I'm just going under her eyes and I'm applying the same purple under her eyes, and you will see how nice that is. There are no gimmicks here; it's just pretty much dabbing the product that's going all around her eye, and just have a look.

If you need to blend, just get your blending brush and do so. But right now, I just want a very intense application of two metallics. Okay.

Make sure that everything you have to swe
