How To Get A Lean Body

Want a fitter and leaner body? Richard will show you three simple exercises to get your body in shape quickly and easily.

In this video, we're going to talk about how to get a lean body. We're going to focus on 3 separate exercises, all with slight variations. The first exercise is a straight forward lunge.

In other words, a nice long over-extended step. Very simply, if you stand nice upright with your feet next to one another, just take one nice long stride with your left leg, bending your back knee almost to the floor, and then coming back again, nice and controlled. And you can rotate the legs however you want to.

In this particular situation, it is quite useful to have the lines on the floor because you then know that you're landing on the same plain as when you take off. The second you start coming slightly out of the line, you're putting greater pressure on your knees. A slight variation of this is to very simply take a weight.

It can be any kind of weight. In this case, it's a 3-kilogram ball, holding it out ahead of you. When you come down to do the lunge, you then just twist.

It ultimately doesn't really matter which way you twist. Just try to even everything out in the entire body. Continue to do this.

20 repetitions on each leg will help you to work those legs quite nicely. The next variation is going into a squat, feet shoulder width apart in this case, to planks, between your legs. Stand nice and upright.

Have your hands wherever you want to and just go into a squat position. Back is sitting up behind you. Knees never going extended beyond your toes.

And your bottom goes as far out as you feel comfortable. Again, nice and controlled, trying to keep your back nice and straight, stomach tucked in. A variation of this one is again with a ball or a weight to bring in a twist.

Coming straight down and you can twist however you want to. So, in this case, this is sort of a golf swing type twist. You can just come and hold it in the middle, come down to a squat position and then just twisting left and right.

It does essentially make a huge difference and it's working your upper body. The third and final exercise is what we call a mountain climber. We can do it fast or we can do it slowly.

It's essentially a sort of burpee. So, very simply, you go onto your hands and knees sort of in a kind of running position and then you're just changing over your legs, nice and controlled. Try and keep your stomach tucked in, your arms nice and relaxed.

They have a tendency to go quite tense and yet in your shoulders, this is the exercise. You can change the pace around and you can change the style. With these three exercises, it's a great way to get a lean body. .
