In this video, I'm going to talk to you about how to get a Mel B body. Now, Mel B has always been in good shape. Recently, because of the advent of 'Dancing with the Stars' in America, she has got a lot of press about her body.
Now, for that show, she trained five hours a day, doing dancing, and since then, she has been doing underwear modelling, and she has been training with her trainer for 90 minutes every day. Now, if you are doing that kind of exercise, you are always going to get a good body. Now, her in particular: she is quite muscular nowadays.
She is actually adopting a more body-building style of workout. That's what I am going to show you today using dumbbells. We are going to something called a giant set.
A giant set is when you do five to eight exercises all back-to-back with no rest. And I am going to work the entire body. I will do it first and I will actually explain it as I go through it.
Squats. Lunges. And around about 4 or 5 reps each time.
Bicep curls. Lateral raises. Bent-over rows.
Shoulder presses. And, relax. Now, quite a lot of exercises there.
There are many I could choose from. They are the kind of most basic. Now, in terms of what weight you should use: start off with something light.
If you are a girl, maybe start off with four kilos. As you get stronger, move up a kilo every week or two. If you train with quite heavy weights, you are going to get more muscle definition in your body.
It is always important to eat well, and also do some cardio-vascular training for your heart and lungs.
