How To Get A Newborn Baby Sleeping Through The Night
Bringing home your baby bundle of joy has probably got you very excited and very tired as well. Surely, you are wondering when you will be able to catch up on your well-deserved sleep while caring for your new infant in the process. Find out how, in this short tutorial, from VideoJug.
Hi, I'm Laura Campbell, from Baby Ladies, and I'm going to be giving you some tips, on how to look after your newborn, and how to achieve the birth that you want. How to get your baby to sleep through the night? It's one that all parents want to know. They want their sleep back, and I'm going to be honest with you, for the first few weeks, you're not going to get that sleep back.
You need to put plans in place if somebody's got to go to work, or somebody's got to do something, and they need that sleep. You need to get that extra support, either a night nanny, or maybe dad's sleeping in a different room if it's him going back to work. Just make allowances because that little baby is not going to sleep through the night, for at least the first eight weeks.
A baby can't differentiate, between day and night. Baby's going to sleep an awful lot. But it won't be for more than three or four hours at a time.
So you need to make sure that you're ready for that, and that you are confident you can handle that, and you can handle that because it's only going to be for a short period of time. Once baby gets a little bit older and their stomach grows, their able to sleep for longer their able to feed, and go for longer between feeds, but for the beginning and for the start, just relax, Go with baby and go with what baby needs. It's really really easy to worry.
You don't want to worry about spoiling a baby. You can't spoil a newborn by feeding them by loving them, by cuddling them, by having them near you. It's just what they need.
So don't worry. You are doing everything right. Everyone worries that they're not doing it right and they're not doing enough for their baby.
As long as you're loving your baby, feeding your baby, making sure their that your baby's not too hot or too cold. Or changing your baby when they eliminate or when they have a weir of poo. You need to be doing those things.
Make sure you are looking after your newborn well, and you're going to be a fantastic parent. .
