This video explains the steps to take in order to get back in shape. The key is to generate a plan and goals you wish to achieve. Be sure to take action as soon as your goals are clear.
So, if you want to get back in shape, the first thing to do is look at your goals. Now, when thinking about your goals, it's very important to be specific, not just, “I want to get back into shape”. What does that mean, exactly? Do you want to gain muscle, lose fat, fun faster? Be very clear.
Secondly, make it measurable. There's no point saying, “I'll get more muscle”. How much more muscle? Five pounds? Ten pounds? Do you want to lose body fat but two percent, four percent? Be precise.
Next, make them achievable. Saying “I'm going to be a world champion athlete”, that's not achievable, unless you were. You want to make it so it's definitely in your realms of possibilities.
Also, there needs to be a time frame to it. To say, “Oh, I want to get back in shape”, is too general. To say, “I want to lose four percent body fat by June the first”, that's more of a goal, less of a dream.
So, once you already have those goals, you need to increase your motivation even more. A good way of doing this using some Alpina tapes where you visualize. So, you visualize actually achieving the goal and you close your eyes and you think how does it feel? What am I seeing? What am I hearing? It makes it more, kind of, real in your mind.
The more real in your mind it is, the more your whole body and mind work together to help achieve it. So, once you have all those goals and you're really motivated, the key thing is to take some action as soon as possible. Join a gym.
