How to get control of your time and your life. This is an area that is such a big area for so many people. "I haven't got time for that"! "My life feels out of control"! "I can't control what I do each day".
All of these things are big anxiety creators. If we had more time, for example, in our lives, how much better it would feel? We'd feel calmer, more relaxed, less anxious probably. If we felt we had control over our lives, or more control over our lives, how would that make us feel? Liberated, freer, better, happier? Yeah! So, we can create the feelings of having more time and more control in our lives by simply looking at things differently.
As far as time is concerned, just do a bit of an audit on your life. Have a look across a week at what you spend your time on, and is that the right way to spend it? Very rarely do we actually sit down and do an audit on what we're spending our time on. And if you're looking at it, and planning it, and thinking, "Okay, if I can plan my time, what would I spend more time doing"? I'd probably spend more time laughing, feeling happier, maybe exercising more, maybe spending less time commuting.
So actually, have a look at the way you're spending your life, as if you were giving it a life audit and then write down ten things you could do to improve that. We all have things that we can change. You can change how much time you're responding to letters, phone calls, emails, whatever it is that's clogging up your life.
You can decide how you spend your time at work, probably. You may be able to change the way that you spend time travelling. These are all options and actually we can all make improvements in our lives with time if we just sit down and have a look at it as a life audit.
As far as control in our lives, the funny thing about this is that we have complete control over every choice we make. We can decide where we live, who we hang out with, conversations we have and most importantly, we get to decide the feelings and the reactions of our inner selves to the lives we live. So we can control much more than we think and once we realize that we do actually have a major plot part to play in our life construction and we are responsible for how we are designing our lives and suddenly the onus is with us and we can make changes and you can be radical.
Being radical with choices in your life can really put you back in the control seat. So, have a think about it. Am I making the right choices around my time, around my work, around my family situation, the food I'm eating, exercise, whatever area it is, just take a look and you have the power to make some changes if you want to.
It's all good. So, having a look at time and the way you spend your life is well worth it. You may decide to get out of some habit ruts and make some changes.
Taking a look at all of these areas gives us choice points and we can transform our lives, taking control of time, looking at how we're spending it, and making different life choices.
