Step 1: Apply eyeliner

Use a soft eyeliner pencil that can preferably be twisted rather than sharpened so it has a softer edge. Lift the upper eyelid, look down and apply the pencil under the lash line with small backwards and forwards motions. This will make the eyes look bigger, and is a 'no make-up, make-up look' that artists use to create the effect of not having any make-up on. You will also need less mascara as the eyeliner will create the illusion of thicker lashes. Use black eyeliner at night and if you have darker skin and hair, and a brown eyeliner for fairer skin and blonde hair.

    It is a nice trick. I've just gotten into Guerlain loose kohl myself, applied the eastern way, with a stick, and it is stunning! The color lasts on the waterline for hours on end which I'd never experienced before. JM : )
