Now, if you want followers on Twitter, you first have to start off by following people. What I'm going to show you is how you go about doing that. One of the easiest ways to get more followers on Twitter is to start off with finding friends.

There are several ways of doing this. The easiest thing is you can simply type in email addresses of people you know and invite them if they are already on Twitter. They will then see you and follow you back.

Now if you want to get more followers on Twitter, you've got to be visible. So, you've set up your Twitter accounts, and presumably you've got a biography and you've got a photograph. But you actually need to be saying things to get people interested.

Now, you need to be original. So for example, if you are talking about motoring, you might want to focus on Reliant Robins for example, if that's your interest. Now, what you need to do is say something original that people are going to follow and you need to be tweeting regularly.

I would recommend that you tweet every day, but at the same time, don't tweet too often. There is a phrase that is now known as "Twitter spam" and that's when people tweet so often, that they end up starting putting people off and people actually start un-following you. So always come up with something educational and informative.

Now, a really easy way to find topics to tweet about is to set up an account with Google Alert. What Google will do is to alert you to anything that's relevant to what you're tweeting about. So if you're tweeting about motoring and you are very interested in Bugati, you can create a Twitter Alert all about Bugati.

Just type in what you want to tweet about and Google will automatically pick up news items relating to what you're tweeting about. So once you've chosen how you want people to alert you, click on "Create Alert". Then Google will send you once a day, a digest of any news items that are relevant to what you're tweeting about.

The second thing you need to do is actually educate your users. So if you're writing about motoring, you might want to put out tips. If your audience is say Porsche owners, you can put out a daily tip about how to look after your Porsche and those people who are interested in Porsches, will pick up your tweets.

One of the ways you can get people to take notice of what you have to say is using something called a "hashtag". Now, Twitter uses hashtags as a sort of keyword alert. So anyone who searches for the word "Porsche", and you put in a hashtag Porsche, they'll find your tweets.

Then, what you can do in your tweet is you can put a tip about how to look after Porsches. Now, anyone who is searching for Porsche-related tweets will see your tweets and then they will start following you. So put in your tweet, put in your hashtag with the keyword that you want to alert people about, and then click on "Tweet".

I recommend every couple of days putting out an educational tweet and you will very soon have followers. Hopefully, by following more and more people, you will gradually build up a following yourself on Twitter. .
