How To Get Good At Bodyboarding
Here is a video with step-by-step directions on how to body board. The instructor also gives advice on how to turn while you're on a wave.
In this video, I'm going to show you how to body board. So, first things first, we need to catch a wave. Once we're in the water, we need to pick our wave.
So, I'm in the water, my board's facing the shore and the tail of my board is facing out to sea. When a wave is coming, we usually leave about two, two and a half meters from ourselves and the wave before we start paddling. There's the wave that's coming in towards us.
When it's about two, two and a half feet away from us, we jump on our boards. Once we jump on our boards, this is the position that we want to be in, elbows on the board, feet hanging off the edge. We're going to kick as hard as we can with one arm, either our right or our left, whichever you prefer, is paddle.
Kick and paddle as hard as you can. Once you're into the wave, put your arms back onto your board. At this point, you can stop paddling and stop kicking.
The power of the wave is going to propel us towards the beach, okay. If you want to introduce a bit of turning, it's pretty easy. Get your left arm.
Put it on your left rail. Lean into the wave. Pull your rail up a little bit and you're going to turn right to face Bursa.
Grab your right arm. Throw it on your rail. Lean into the wave.
Pull your rail up and you're going to turn left. So, that is how to body board. .
