How to play guitar chords. There are five essential shapes that guitar is used and most like master those so that they slide them up and down their fret board so they all are moveable. First one, well, basically I call it the CAGED system, that is C, A, G, E, D.
Here's a C chord. So, I've got a finger. This is this diagram here.
So, we got C chord. Now, that's the flat string, don't play it. It's going to mix over the top.
The next, string it in, the next practice is the A string. You're playing the third fret, using the finger three. The next string along is the D string playing in the second fret using finger two.
The next string is open, that's the open G. The next string is the B string, the second pin, and you are using the finger one in the first fret, the next string is open again, that's an open E. So, we have the open E string we do not play.
Third fret on A string, we use that finger three, second fret on the D string, play that one. Next string is the open G that's there and then we've got first fret on the B string finger number one and then we've got the last string, that's the E string on the pin, that's open. So, once again, the same principles apply through all these shapes.
So, I'm going to an A chord, now, that's this one. Five strings again. That one's not played.
Here's an A. So, here's a diagram for an A chord. Do not play the flat string but cross it over the top.
Next string which is an A string open, the D string second fret, use finger two for that one. Beside it, in the second fret on a G string, is finger number one and next string is the B string, second fret use finger three and then the last string to put open E. So, we've got open A, finger number two, second fret on the D string, finger number one, second fret on the G string, finger number three, second fret on the B string and then the open E string again.
Here we have the G chord. On the E string, we have the third fret being played by finger three. On the A string, we've got second fret being played by finger two.
On the D, G, and B string, we have no finger they are played open. That's all the zeroes on the top. And then, we're using finger four to play the third fret on high E string.
That looks like this. Here's the G that's finger three, finger two, three open strings and finger four. You have the E chord.
It's on the flat string E, it's open. So, we are playing all six strings on this one. Second fret on the A string played by finger two, second fret on the D string played by finger three, first fret on the G string played by finger one and then the B and E strings are open.
Open, finger two, finger three, finger one, open, open. Here we have the D chord. This time we are only going to play four strings because out root note for the D chord is played on the D string which is the third one in.
So, don't play the E string, don't play the A string. It's the next string open, then it's finger number one in the second fret of the G string, finger number three in the third fret of the B string, now, finger number two on second fret of the E string, finger number one there. That's the open string.
Finger number one, finger number three, finger number two. Now, here's a quick tune that uses some of that shapes which is easy for you to pass between one chord and another. Starts with and A chord and then it goes to D chord and back to and then E chord and then back to the D chord.
Small thing by the Trucks. If you use the finger in your right hand as written here, one of the fingers stays on the same string. So you only need to turn yourself around that.
This is called the pivot point. So you can see that, finger number one stays in the same place between this chord and this one, and then it stays on the same string between this one and this one. So, I'll show you about that.
Here's an A. Now, I'm keeping finger one in the place and I put finger two down there and finger thre
